THE ACCOMMODATIONLocationDriving through an avenue of young trees you draw up in the courtyard, with its mellow stone barn to the north and owners house to the south. Beyond the courtyard are grouped The Cottage and The Tower around a border-fringed lawn that leads down to the ‘Garden’ pool. To the west of The Tower, a grove of old walnut trees provides a natural break in the landscape before moving further west to the more recently-built Gatehouse and Field House cottages, that look southwards towards the ‘Field’ pool. An abundance of flowering shrubs around all the cottages complements the natural hues of the stonework and rendering. There are two car parks, with a separate driveway for leaving the property FacilitiesAll cottages are furnished with double beds complete with duvet, four pillows, and blankets. The linen sets provided include pillowcases, sheets, towels, napkins, tea cloths and bath mat. The kitchens are equipped with gas cooker, fridge, electric kettle, cafetiere and toaster. There is sufficient high quality china, glassware and cutlery for four people. Bathrooms are fitted with a shower [also a bath in Field House] as well as a bidet in some properties, heated towel rail plus a supply of constant hot water. Central heating is provided in all cottages plus ceiling fans in the living rooms and bedrooms for the summer months. Each cottage has its own extensive set of garden furniture [dining table and chairs, reclining chairs, low table and sun beds] complete with cushions and matching parasol plus a barbeque set. There is a central utility room near the courtyard which has washing and ironing facilities to serve all but The Field House and The Gatehouse. The utility room also contains two cycles and a small library. |
