THE GATEHOUSE  

With its distinctive, pitched Perigordine roofs, The Gatehouse is our second largest cottage – having been extended in 2001.  

Its beamed living room is furnished with twin settees and complemented by Louis-Philippe style dining furniture and coffee tables in solid pine with an antique finish.  

Leading off from the living room is an attractive kitchen complete with washing machine and dishwasher.  Here, local master artisans have used solid pale ash wood to craft the cupboards and working surfaces. 

Pale ash is also prominent in the large bedroom: the double bed’s extensive headboard was purpose-built for this cottage.  Modern, built-in wardrobes provide plenty of storage space, whilst a sparkling bathroom in white and blue completes the en-suite accommodation.

Perhaps The Gatehouse’s most striking external feature is its 7-metre long verandah.  Accessed from both the kitchen and living room, it leads onto a south-facing patio and intimate ‘courtyard’ garden area.
